We were pleased to welcome Jan Cox back as our guest speaker. Jan spoke to us more than two years ago about the Bowen Technique, and we felt it was time for a repeat performance.
The Bowen Technique is a non-invasive alternative form of physical manipulation based on gentle rolling movements of the hands across muscles, tendons, and fascia, the tissues which wrap around muscles. The treatment has become very popular in recent years, and can help with a range of musculo-skeletal problems such as backache and knee and elbow pain. The Bowen Technique has proved to be particularly effective for some sufferers of tinnitus, especially people whose condition is related to dental or jaw disorders.
Jan gave a fascinating talk followed by a wonderful practical demonstration on two of our members: CJ had his shoulder manipulated and found he could raise his arm higher than before, while newcomer Rob had the full on-the-couch treatment. Both volunteers reported pleasant and very interesting experiences.
Further details about the Bowen Technique, with information on how to find local practitioners, can be obtained from the website of the Bowen Association UK. Click HERE.
Our thanks to Jan for her return visit.
