The event, which is a legacy of the London Olympic Games, is part of the world’s largest cycling festival and is now in its third year. The televised event follows a 100 mile route on closed roads from the Olympic Park down into Surrey taking in many climbs including the notorious Box Hill and then returning to London and finishing in the Mall in front of Buckingham Palace.
Norman says he will be putting in a ‘Mark Cavendish’ style sprint finish!
There will be 25,000 amateur cyclists taking part in this event and a total of 80,000 in the festival overall.
Norman has set up a Just Giving page, and he would be delighted to receive visits to the page where you can read his story and have the facility to make a donation. His training progress can also be followed on Twitter.
